A meeting with entrepreneurs importing food products from Argentina and Brazil was held at AQTA
A meeting was held at the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AQTA) with entrepreneurs who import food products from Argentina and Brazil to our country.
The purpose of the event is to review the situation in the field of importing high-risk food products from Argentina and Brazil to our republic, to further expand cooperation with entrepreneurs, to inform them about existing legislation and requirements, to help organize their services in accordance with international requirements, as well as to listen to their proposals and ensure the implementation of relevant works. carried.
At the meeting, Aziz Sharifov, deputy chairman of AQTA, gave detailed information about the requirements and implemented measures in the field of food safety, including the import of high-risk food products. He said that in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Food Safety", which entered into force on January 1 of this year, the process of approval of facilities where high-risk food products, especially animal products, imported to our country are produced and processed, has been started. In this regard, the evaluation of the production enterprises operating in the exporting countries is carried out on the spot or in the format of a video conference. Based on the results of the assessment, enterprises are approved or refused approval because they do not meet the relevant requirements.
Elkhan Mikayilov, Head of the Agency's Office, said that the work of registration and approval of food facilities operating in a number of countries has been successfully carried out, and emphasized the importance of the enterprises importing food products from Argentina and Brazil to actively join this process. At the same time, he emphasized that, according to the previously provided information, the importation of high-risk food products to our country will not be allowed from the enterprises of Argentina and later Brazil, which have not applied for registration in the near future. Therefore, facilities interested in importing their food products to our country should apply for registration and approval in time.
At the end of the meeting, the ideas and proposals of the entrepreneurs were heard, the questions they were interested in were answered, and relevant instructions were given.
