AQTA continues the process of approval of food facilities in foreign countries

The Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AQTA) is continuing the process of approving the products of food establishments operating in foreign countries for importing into the customs territory of our republic.

It should be noted that in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Food Safety", the approval of a food facility operating in foreign countries is carried out in an on-site assessment or online format.

In this regard, during the month of June of the current year, assessment was carried out in 26 institutions, 9 of which were conducted in the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Bulgaria, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Georgia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Republic of Ukraine, and 17 were conducted online.

Out of 26 foreign food facilities whose assessment reports have been finalized, 20 have been approved, 4 have been conditionally approved, and a decision has been made to re-evaluate 2 of them.

It should be noted that during the months of June-September of the current year, it is planned to conduct assessment in 157 institutions of the mentioned countries, including Lithuania, 41 of them on-site, 116 of them in online format (based on the list agreed with the relevant institutions of those countries).

AQTA once again warns the entrepreneurs engaged in the import of food products to our country and states that according to the requirements of the relevant legislation, restrictions will be applied to the import of products from unapproved foreign food facilities.
