As part of the “Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Decade of Health Care” taking place in Tashkent, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the “Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Health Forum” was held
As previously reported, the “Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Decade of Health Care” is being held with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, as well as a joint organization of the Ministries of Health of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
The forum was attended by representatives of the ministries of health of both countries, relevant government agencies of Uzbekistan, medical schools, medical specialists, scientists, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan. The main purpose of the forum is to discuss achievements in the field of healthcare and medical science, the application of innovations, digitalization of healthcare and practical exchange of experience between medical specialists of the two countries.
Before the start of the forum, the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan and the participants of the event got acquainted with a photo exhibition and a collection of books reflecting the life and work of the national leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev.
The event began with the demonstration of a film about the life and work of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev.
Speaking at the opening of the forum, the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Amrillo Inoyatov emphasized that a close partnership has been established in the field of healthcare between our countries: “As a successful continuation of fraternal relations, the “Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Decade of Health Care” was held in the capital of Uzbekistan, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great son of the Turkic world Heydar Aliyev." Amrillo Inoyatov also noted that during the decade, medical specialists from both countries performed more than 100 surgical operations and medical examinations of citizens using high-tech equipment. “The forum will sum up the results of the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Decade of Health Care and will raise relations between the two countries to a qualitatively new level,” said the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan.
Welcoming the participants of the forum dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Teymur Musayev said: “2023 is the year of the 100th anniversary of two great personalities, whose names are inscribed in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan - a brilliant politician, architect and founder modern Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyeva, and the outstanding scientist and doctor, Honored Scientist, Academician Zarifa Aliyeva, who left an indelible mark on the history of science and medicine in our country.”
Teymur Musaev also expressed gratitude to Minister Amrillo Inoyatov and the medical community of Uzbekistan for their support and tireless hospitality in celebrating the decade of healthcare.
Noting the unprecedented role of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of healthcare in our country, the minister said: “Thanks to the special attention and care of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, significant successes have been achieved in the development of healthcare and the protection of public health. The legal and regulatory framework has been improved and brought to the level of world standards health base. Important work has been done in the direction of developing, improving the skills, knowledge and experience of national medical personnel, as well as expanding international cooperation links. Close relations have been established with the World Health Organization."
“The National Center of Ophthalmology named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan works closely with the Tashkent Institute of Doctors Training and the Specialized Center for Eye Microsurgery. Memorandums were signed between the Azerbaijan Medical University, the Tashkent Medical Academy and the Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Ibn Sina,” Teymur Musayev emphasized, speaking about the successful cooperation between the ministries of health of both countries.
Cooperation in the pharmaceutical field is developing: “37 types of medicines produced by Uzbek companies are registered in Azerbaijan. A Memorandum was signed between the Center for Analytical Expertise of the Ministry of Health and the Agency for Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” the minister added.
It was noted that this year the development of bilateral relations in various fields has become dynamic. Thus, in February of this year, the first Azerbaijani-Uzbek interregional forum took place in Tashkent. Memorandums were signed between the cities of Shusha-Khiva, Ganja-Samarkand, Lankaran-Bukhara, Sheki-Kokand, and a road map of cooperation between Baku and Tashkent. The Agreement on the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Fund came into force. In April of this year, the Uzbek delegation took part in the international congress held in the Astara region of Azerbaijan with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation within the framework of the Year of Heydar Aliyev.
“One of the priorities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, headed by the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, is the healthcare sector. On the personal initiative and participation of Mehriban Aliyeva, the Foundation has successfully implemented many projects for the development and progress of healthcare,” said Teymur Musayev.
“Under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, 2023 went down in history for Azerbaijan as the year of restoration of territorial rights as defined by the Constitution. The great victory of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the 44-day Patriotic War and the anti-terrorism measures carried out on September 19 this year aroused pride in every citizen. The fraternal countries are actively participating in restoration and construction work on the ancient liberated lands of Azerbaijan,” the minister emphasized.
Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continued the political and socio-economic course of national leader Heydar Aliyev, large-scale reforms in the field of modernization of healthcare are being implemented, aimed at protecting the health of the population, Teymur Musayev emphasized: “The “Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Decade of Healthcare” was successfully held within the framework of the 100th anniversary The Great Leader of Azerbaijan, as well as joint surgical operations were performed and medical services were provided by professional doctors of Azerbaijan. This event, organized with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, further strengthened the bonds of brotherhood between our peoples. In continuation of the mission, I propose to organize a visit of 50 doctors and 50 representatives of paramedical personnel from fraternal Uzbekistan to our country in order to improve professional training and exchange experience.”
In turn, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev, speaking, noted that bilateral relations and cooperation between the fraternal countries are at the highest level. According to him, a clear example of this friendship is the relationship between the leaders of both countries.
Representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Shamil Azizov spoke about the large-scale activities of the Foundation, including successful projects implemented in the field of healthcare development.
Speaking at the forum on behalf of Azerbaijani doctors, Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Azerbaijan Medical University Prof. Ramiz Polukhov informed the participants about new approaches in scientific and clinical practice, joint surgical operations and the results of practical medical training conducted within the framework of the decade.
Other participants of the event also spoke at the event on topics about transformations in the healthcare sector, new methods of diagnosis and treatment in clinical practice, and prospects for bilateral cooperation.
At the end of the forum, an award ceremony was held for doctors who participated in joint surgical operations and medical examinations within the framework of the “Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Decade of Health Care”.
