Attention of Legal and Physical Persons Engaged in the Import of Medicinal Products!

"In accordance with the amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Medicinal Products" (hereinafter - the Law) No. 979-VIQD dated July 14, 2023, certain cases of refusal to grant permission for the import of medicinal products to the Republic of Azerbaijan have been determined.

According to Article 9-1.16.2 of the Law, one of these cases is the refusal to grant permission for the import of medicinal products when the imported medicinal products (except for those imported for state registration purposes, those intended for display at exhibitions, those rarely encountered, and those intended for the treatment of specific diseases) are not included in the state register or when the period of validity of state registration of medicinal products has expired before permission for the import of medicinal products is granted.

In other words, on the day permission is granted for import, the medicinal product must be registered in the country. This means that the registration certificate must be valid on the day the permission for import is granted by the State Agency of Medicines. Otherwise, permission for import will not be granted."
