The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has approved the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on amending the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Medicines" and "On Advertising".

According to the amendment, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Food Safety", the words "food additives with biological activity" were replaced by the words "biologically active food products" in both laws. In addition, according to the amendment to the Law "On Medicinal Products", biologically active food products are intended to enrich the diet, consisting of one or more nutrients and other biologically active substances that have a nutritional and physiological effect, and the daily intake dose is determined and dosed. (capsule, tablet, ampoule, drop and other similar form) is a food product. At the same time, biologically active food products must comply with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Food Safety".

According to another change, the advertisement of biologically active food products must provide information that they are not medicinal and do not have therapeutic properties, as well as indicate the registration number confirming their registration in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Food Safety".
